Weeds are the often the bane of having a beautiful lawn and landscape. They come in all sizes and types, with each requiring a different way of controlling them.
Here in southwest Ohio, we have several common weeds that we consistently see every year: dandelions and other broadleafed weeds, plus crabgrass.
Broadleaf weeds like dandelions and plantain are controlled with a special spray that only effects the broadleafed weeds. We treat the entire lawn for these weeds in the spring when they first start to show new growth . As the growing season progresses, we'll watch for new signs of broadleaf weed growth in the yard and spot treat for them on an as needed basis.
The other major weed problem are the grassy-type weeds like crabgrass. Crabgrass can take over areas quickly if not controlled properly. We like to apply a pre-emergent application that actually puts a microscopic barrier on your soil that won't harm other plants, but it actually prevents crabgrass seed from germinating. This helps prevent the spread of crabgrass in your lawn.
Weed control is just part of the entire package. Weeds take hold in a lawn because it is not a thick and healthy lawn. Dormant weed seeds can remain viable for years, just waiting for the right opportunity to take root.
Ideal weed growing conditions include receiving ample sunlight, exactly what they receive as a lawn thins out over time and reduced nutrient levels in the soil. The solution is to keep future weed seeds out of the lawn, and keeping the lawn thick and healthy so weed seeds can't germinate.
Weeds are a major source of annoyance with homeowners. No body likes weeds in their lawn and no body likes pulling weeds. Our scientific application of weed control applications helps insure your lawn is weed-free all season long..
Some lawn care companies will force you into one of their packages that forces customers to pay for services they may not need.
We believe you should only be charged for those services your lawn actually needs. If your lawn needs something else, then you have the option of adding that service on an as needed basis. Why pay more when what you really need is less?
